When you create or update your MEE CABS account, you must provide essential details such as your email address, full name, home address, mobile number, gender, and date of birth. You may also upload a profile photograph and set a secure login password. In addition, any banking or payment-related information may be necessary for transactions within the app.

Verification Information for Drivers:

If you choose to work as a driver, we will gather additional verification information to ensure your identity and eligibility. The verification includes your location details, a professional profile picture, relevant call and SMS records, and copies of valid government-issued ID documents. We will also require you to provide vehicle-related documents, such as the vehicle registration certificate, driving permit, fitness certificate, insurance papers, and pollution clearance certificate. To further confirm your identity, you may need to capture real-time selfies.

Background Verification Information:

To ensure your safety and the safety of our users, we conduct background checks on drivers. This process involves collecting identity information such as driving history, criminal record, and confirmation of your right to work. Please note the information we get is from the vetted third-party service providers acting on our behalf.

 

Information We Collect While You Access and Use the MEE CABS App:

Transaction Information:

Through your use of our services, we meticulously record transaction details. It includes specific trip information such as pick-up and drop-off locations, the total distance travelled, and any payment transaction data associated with your rides.

Location Data for Drivers:

When you drive, MEE CABS continually collects your location data, whether the app is actively being used in the foreground or runs in the background on your mobile device. It helps us to provide accurate ride details and ensure the safety of both drivers and riders.

Location Data for Customers:

For users requesting rides, we collect your precise or approximate location data directly from your device, provided you permit us to do so. We obtain the data from the time we receive your request for the service you request service until you complete the ride and at any time the app is operating in the foreground.

Usage Information:

We utilize various technologies to automatically and passively collect certain information whenever you engage the MEE CABS platform. This may include your activity logs and patterns of interaction, allowing us to enhance the overall user experience.

SMS/Text Messages:

With your consent, we may access data from your SMS or text messages to facilitate the sending and receiving of one-time passwords and other verification details. We utilize this information to streamline the verification process during financial transactions. Importantly, we do not share or transfer this SMS/Text message data to any third party except as expressly outlined in our privacy policy.

Call Details:

For drivers, we will also record any calls made to our support team using the device provided for service. The details may include timestamps and call duration information related to customer interactions.

 

Cookies:

When users sign up on the Application, MEE CABS creates a user profile and assigns a unique identification number, which is then stored on the user’s hard drive in the form of a cookie, a small piece of code. This code is specific to each user. It facilitates a smooth experience across the Application, allowing the user to navigate without needing to frequently re-enter their password or complete registration forms with previously provided information.

MEE CABS utilizes cookies on various pages of the Application to assist in analyzing the flow of web pages, deliver advertisements that correspond to users' interests, evaluate the success of ad campaigns, and enhance trust and safety. Certain features offered by MEE CABS are only accessible through cookies. Cookies also help MEE CABS provide information that aligns with the user's interests. Most cookies are session cookies, meaning they are automatically removed from the user’s hard drive at the end of their session. Users have the option to refuse MEE CABS cookies by disabling them in their internet browser; however, this may restrict access to some features on the Platform and necessitate that users re-enter their password more often during a session.
